REALTOR ® I MICHAEL SAUNDERS & COMPANY
FROM THE BEGINNING, JANET WALTER SET HERSELF APART IN
REAL ESTATE AND THE COMMUNITY. Her debut sale with Michael Saunders & Company was made in her first week back in 2015, when she sold Penthouse 19 at Echelon on Palm. The project is currently under construction, with a closing expected later this year. Not surprisingly, that same year Walter was named “Rookie of the Year” for the Longboat Key South office. She went on to earn her Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist Designation in 2016. She is known as a “Longboat Key Resident & Realtor,” although her expertise and experience extends to buyers and sellers throughout the region, from Useppa Island, to Downtown Sarasota and Bradenton. In addition to Michael Saunders & Company, Janet has worked in commercial real estate/marketing roles for Sarasota Square Mall, Southgate Plaza, Kellogg & Kimsey Construction, the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort and the Jewish Community Center. Walter’s passion for the place in which she has lived, worked and played for 23 years shines through in everything she does. Walter has worked with over 30 local charitable organizations to date, including: Girls, Inc., Dante’s Den, The Ringling Museum of Art, HSSC, The YMCA and The Asolo Repertory Theatre.440 Gulf of Mexico Dr., Longboat Key I 941-383-7591 I michaelsaunders.com
Janet Walter placed Penthouse #19 (the very top) under contract at Echelon on Palm, a new development at 624 S. Palm Ave, Sarasota, FL. This beautiful project, developed by the Ronto Group out of Naples, is proposed to be finished in June of 2017.
Penthouse #19 will be 4,000 sf, completely custom, 360 degree views of Sarasota bay and downtown Sarasota, balconies on all four sides and outdoor gas kitchen, with a rooftop terrace and other incredible amenities, all on “tree lined” Palm Avenue, within a short walking distance to downtown Sarasota. With a total of 17 units in the building, there are only a few opportunities left.
SARASOTA – Sarasota has been riding high in the rankings of desirable places to live for the last few years. Now we can add “second-best place to retire” to the trophy shelf, courtesy of Livability. com — a website that slices data on small-to-medium-sized cities in a bunch of different ways.
Longboat Key was the No. 9 best island in the U.S. in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Beaches – It’s a quick and scenic drive (and a popular running and walking route) across the Ringling Bridge to Lido Key, part of the city and home to three beautiful public beaches. Lido Beach (pictured here), a 3,000-foot strand of powdery white sand, has lifeguards and such conveniences as concessions, restrooms, and a pool. Undeveloped North Lido Beach, with its quiet, bleached sands and grassy dunes, is home to local and migrating shorebirds. South Lido Beach is part of a 100-acre property that touches four bodies of water: Sarasota Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, Big Pass, and Brushy Bayou. Just 15 minutes from downtown lies Siesta Key, with its shallow waters and epic expanse of bone-white, 99-percent-quartz sand, which stays cool even on the hottest sunny day.

Janet Walter has an exclusive relationship with Barton & Gray Mariner’s Club, which runs its’ Hinckley yachts out of the Longboat Key Club Marina for members only. Walter shows property via Hinckley yacht for buyers interested in waterfront luxury properties, which provides an entirely different perspective of these spectacular properties. Janet’s roots run deep in the community, and it is this expertise that she brings to her clients – whether she is helping them sell their properties or find the right home. When she moved to the area 21 years ago from St. Louis, she initially lived on Lido Beach and for the past 13 years has been on the north end of Longboat Key.
Before it became one of the most popular places to retire, Sarasota, Fla., served as the winter quarters of the Greatest Show on Earth, the Ringling Brothers Circus. Today retirees enjoy a lion’s share of activities and things to do along with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. What makes Sarasota one of the greatest cities to retire in are the low costs of living, especially when it comes to health care, the high volume of golf courses and parks, and the large segment of people age 60 and older.
